Homemade bread dipping seasoning combines dried herbs and spices with extra virgin olive oil to create a rich and savory dipper. Serve it with crusty bread for a simple but flavorful and elegant appetizer.
I've you don't have a ½ tablespoon measuring spoon, then ½ tablespoon = 1½ teaspoons.
Measure each spice and add it to a storage jar. [I group my spices with the corresponding measuring spoon so that I don't forget where I'm at when making multiple servings.]
Shake jar to combine spices.
To Serve
For a small appetizer plate or bowl, start by adding 1 tablespoon of the seasoning blend to the plate and covering it completely with 3 tablespoons of a high quality olive oil. Adjust quantities for a larger plate or to taste.
Stir spice seasoning blend and olive oil. Let sit for 10 minutes for flavors to blend. Serve with a crusty baguette or bread of your choice.
Notes
One serving is fills a 4 ounce jar about ⅔ full. This leaves plenty of room to shake the spices to combine.
