Equipment

  • 1 High speed blender (or food processor)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup neutral oil (like grapeseed or sunflower)
  • ¾ cup almonds
  • ¼ cup lime juice approx. 2 limes
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 4 small canned chipotles (or two large)
  • 2 teaspoon sauce from canned chipotles
  • 2 teaspoon tamari sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon chipotle chili powder

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high speed blender in any order.
  • Start the blender on the lowest speed and gradually move to higher speeds as ingredients blend and chunks get smaller. Blend on medium high speed until a smooth, creamy texture is achieved. It usually takes less than 3 minutes.

Notes

If you don't have a high speed blender, soak the almonds in water for two hours prior to making the dip.
