Berry yogurt parfait is a yummy layered dish that's perfect for breakfast, meal prep or a snack. It's beautifully layered with berries, walnuts and Greek yogurt. This berry yogurt bowl has lots of protein with no added sugar which makes for a perfect breakfast, meal prep or snack.

Friends, I eat this berry yogurt bowl for breakfast almost every day. Except for the occasional scrambled eggs or breakfast out, I do literally eat this berry yogurt parfait for breakfast every day. For years now! Typically, I just dump it in a bowl each morning. It's not as pretty as using jars, but it works and it's just as yummy. A lot of the time, I even use frozen blueberries and just microwave them for a minute first. I also use unsweetened high protein yogurt, as the berries are a natural sweetener. Plus, for the crunch, I use nuts instead of granola. So no sugar added either! And, because this berry yogurt parfait has lots of protein, it keeps you satisfied for much longer. It's super easy to meal prep too!

Ingredients
- Greek yogurt
- Berries of choice
- Walnuts (or nuts of choice)
See recipe card for quantities.
Substitutions
- Vegan - for vegan berry yogurt parfait, I highly recommend Forager Project's Organic Unsweetened Plain or Unsweetened Vanilla. The protein content is much less than Greek yogurt, but you could also add chia seeds, hemp hearts or a vegan protein powder to get more protein.
- Gluten free - this recipe is naturally gluten free, so no substitutions are needed!
Variations
- Fruit - I typically use blueberries, but you can use any berry or combination of berries that you wish. You can even use a different type of fruit. I've made yogurt parfaits with mangos, jackfruit and bananas.
- Nuts - I buy walnuts by the bag at Costco. They sell both organic and regular walnuts. If you don't like walnuts, use your favorite nut. I do recommend unsalted nuts if you use a different nut or a mixed nut combination though.
Protein
Greek yogurt is typically much higher in protein compared to other yogurt. The brand I used for this recipe has 16 grams of protein per serving. Walnuts have about 5 grams per serving. To add even more protein, you could add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds (4-5 grams of protein) or hemp hearts (6-7 grams of protein) to the yogurt part of the parfait. You could also mix in your favorite protein powder for extra protein as well.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
Next Level Tips
- Some of the healthiest meals and snacks are the simplest. Never be afraid to keep it simple! Simple doesn't have to mean boring or flavorless. I love the flavor combination of yogurt, berries and nuts. There's no need for any added sugar. Skip the granola!
